Judy was predeceased by her husband, Richard Neil Baer, her son, Steven Randal Baer, and her granddaughter, Judith Lin Vazquez.
Judy's heart was her family. Her greatest joy was being a mom. So often she'd say that being a mother and raising her children were the best years of her life. That love grew and poured into the lives of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Judy was a highly motivated, hard-working woman. She worked two jobs in high school. Judy married at 17 and children soon began to follow. Judy stayed home with all her babies and she and Neil worked a small farm to provide for their growing family. Neil worked construction out of town and Judy kept the home going. This was no small feat with six children, four of which were incredibly busy boys but Judy ran a tight ship and taught her children the value of discipline and hard work. Taking care of the animals, gardening, canning and preserving food for the family was essential and Judy and her crew got it done. Even in the business of caring for family, Judy made sure to be present at all of her children's activities. She and Neil were cub scout leaders. Judy absolutely loved all the boys, even the naughty ones, that came through their troop. Judy also loved cheering her kids on at their games. She was known for running up and down the sidelines and ringing her cowbell whenever touchdowns were scored.
Once all of the children were in school, Judy went on to become a highly successful business woman. She began her career as a realtor and broker and, with a partner, went on to establish Today's Lifestyle Real Estate. Eventually, Judy went on to own and operate Judith Baer Realty. Judy owned multiple properties and contributed to the re-development of City Hall Place. It meant so very much for Judy to see her hard work improve and benefit the city of Plattsburgh.
Woven within every fiber of Judy's life was her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Judy's personal relationship with Christ gave her strength and guidance each moment of every day. She recognized the gift of marriage, family, work, fun and all the joy and sorrow faced in her life, flowed from her Heavenly Father. It is with confidence in our Lord that we can celebrate the life of Judith Ann Baer, knowing she is celebrating along with us in heaven. Praise be to God.
