Agostino P. Longo Jr

August P. Longo, Jr., 3150 68th Street S.W., Naples, Florida, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, he moved to Collier County in 1967. A General Contractor, he retired from Collier County Public Schools as a Quality Assurance Inspector in 2004. He was a member of Saint Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Golden Gate since 1980. Augie served in the Korean War in 1951 - 1952. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received as a result of enemy action. He was also awarded the Silver Star for action during one of the patrols. He was honorably discharged after seven years in the Marine Corps with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was past president of the Collier Building Industry Association, Golden Gate Rotary Club, Barron Collier All Booster Club, Naples Quarterback Club, Naples Little League, Naples Police Athletic League, Vice President of Golden Gate Chamber of Commerce, Builder of the Year 1991 for the Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA). Augie was a General Contractor holding an "A" license. He was active in the Naples area since 1967, building all types of structures.

Augie was married to Mary A.R. Longo (Rina) since 1955. He is survived by his wife Rina, his children: Dino (Shelley), grandchildren - Chris, Trina and Jane; daughter Gina (Shawn Ward), grandchildren - Jared, Anthony and Marisa; son Ricco (Shari), grandchild - Joshua, as well as great-grandchildren and extended family members.
