Agustín Cova Obituary
May 7, 1935 – August 31, 2025
Agustín Gómez Cova, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 90.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, on May 7, 1935, Agustín was the youngest of six children born to Francisco Gómez and Mónica Cova. From an early age, he carried the warmth and strength of his family's legacy, becoming the heartbeat of the Gómez-Cova lineage. His life was a testament to his unwavering belief in the power of family-his guiding motto was always "family first."
Agustín had a rare gift for bringing people together. Whether through stories, laughter, or quiet moments of wisdom, he drew loved ones close and made everyone feel seen and cherished. His home was a sanctuary of joy, love, and tradition, where bonds of friendship were nurtured and celebrated.
He will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, his deep compassion, and the joy he brought into every room. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him and be loved by him.
Agustín is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Mónica, and all of his siblings. Though he has joined them in eternal rest, his memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons: Dr. Jesús Gómez Pérez (Valentina) and Carlos Eduardo Gómez Pérez (Raquel); and his cherished grandchildren: Carlos, Rebeca, Álvaro, Daniel, Carlota, and Corina. He also leaves behind his former spouses, Martha Pérez and Carmen Rodríguez, along with a host of extended family and countless friends whom he loved deeply.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the livestream will begin closer to 6:00 p.m. on the Church Facebook page, please click the link to be taken to their page: https://www.facebook.com/OLPHCCTX/
