Dr. David Mark Chapman

Dr. David Mark Chapman, 72, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 28, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Dr. Samuel B. Chapman and Gertrude Faye (Frederici) Chapman.

On June 17, 1972, he married the love of his life, Debra Ruth Chapman, at Leawood Baptist Church in Leawood, Kansas. Together they shared 53 years of marriage and built a family grounded in faith, devotion, and love.

Dr. Chapman graduated from the University of Missouri–Kansas City in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry, and in 1979 earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the same institution. In 1980, he opened his dental practice in Corpus Christi, where he faithfully served the Calallen and surrounding community for more than 40 years. His legacy will continue at the practice he loved so dearly through his son, Brett, and his wonderful staff. Dave was known for his kindness and compassion; he cared deeply for his patients and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra; his sons, Brett Chapman (Alissa) and Blake Chapman (Kristi); his six cherished grandchildren: McKenna, Case, Logan, Luke, Reagan, and Kinslee; and his nephew, Nathan Blythe. His family will remember him as a gentle soul whose presence brought warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. He was a longtime member at First Baptist Church and was blessed to make many friends that were like family through the many years that he and Debra were involved in their Bible Study Classes.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scott and Dorothy Blythe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12 at First Baptist Church, 3115 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78404. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Ministries or your local animal shelters
