Charles Harlan Obituary

Never was there a more strong willed, determined man than Charles Harlan. He didn't always say it, but if you were his friend, it was for life, if you needed anything, he could provide, it was yours, and if he loved you, it was completely and forever. He enjoyed keeping his lawn neat and tidy, fishing, watching the squirrels and birds, Sarah Brightman, doting on his dog Mandy, traveling, hunting, and especially spending time with his 5 grandchildren. He was very proud of his two daughters, but the absolute love of his life was his wife, Nancy.

Charles Lee Harlan, 75, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away quickly yet peacefully on Friday September 5, 2025. Born June 16,1950, in San Antonio, Texas, he was the second son of the late James Harlan and Geraldine (Lemke) Harlan.

On July 29, 1972, in San Antonio, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Philips Harlan. They were married 53 years.

Charles graduated from Harlandale High School in 1968. He then paid his own way to earn his bachelor's degree in marketing from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas in 1972.

Charles dedicated 40 years of his life to the pharmaceutical industry, working first for Parke- Davis and then Pfizer. He had many awards including Salesman of the Year, Pfizer's Masters Award, and MVP to name just a few.

Charles is survived by his wife Nancy Philips Harlan (AKA Gay Gay), his daughter Amy Geurin, her husband Jeff, and their daughters Gloria J'Nette, Katherine Elizabeth, and Lillian Grace; his other daughter Stacey Phillips, her husband Forrest, and their children, Emily Shae and Layton Finn. He is also survived by his siblings Jim Harlan, Kathleen Groesbeck and her husband James, and Kenneth Harlan and wife Connie all of San Antonio, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; also, his beloved schnauzer Mandy, who will be missing the squirrel searches and nightly turn down service.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Also awaiting him in heaven is his schnauzer Lola and his chocolate lab Drum, who was awaiting Charles' arrival at the pearly gates to go "fishing in the boat"!

Charles was a devout member of Galilean Lutheran Church.

The funeral service will be Friday, September the 19th at 10AM, at Galilean Lutheran Church, 3321 Cimarron Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas.
