Aiden Carter Thompson

Aiden Thompson, 21, passed away in the early morning of July 19, 2025 in Nevis, MN.

Aiden was born in Robbinsdale, MN on February 19, 2004, and in 2015 the family moved to Nevis, MN. Aiden planned to stay in the area with his family. Aiden was a loving, active, curious, energetic, precocious child, who loved to be involved in anything and everything, and especially loved baseball. Once moving to Nevis, he began playing basketball, baseball, excelled in football, and became an Eagle Scout. After high school, Aiden graduated from North Dakota State College of Science with an Associates Degree in Electrical Science. He returned to Nevis to begin his career as an electrician. Aiden enjoyed spending time with his friends, who consider him a brother, swimming in Lake Belle Taine, playing video games, listening to music, watching and reading anime, fishing, and playing the devil's advocate in any conversation. He could always be counted on to make people laugh, and believed in not taking life too seriously. Aiden was a mischief-maker, a peacemaker, a hugger, and a deeply loyal friend.

Aiden was preceded in death by his grandparents John O'Borsky, Marsha and Jerry Bestland, and Bob and Mary Thompson. He is survived by his parents Scott and Jeanne, his brothers Alec and Seth (Jared), his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many cherished friends.

A scholarship in Aiden's name is being developed for Nevis High School students going into the trades. Memorials are preferred to the family and will be used for this purpose.

A celebration of life will take place at Nevis High School on August 16 at 10am. All are welcome and encouraged to bring their stories of Aiden. Aiden hated dressing up. To honor him, please dress comfortably, especially by wearing gym shorts, Nevis T-shirts (slightly wrinkled preferred), ball caps, Crocs, Dudes (with socks), or tennis shoes!
