Sandra Dorethy Obituary
Sandra K. Gavelys was born on December 15, 1941 In Peoria, IL. She grew up in Illinois and she was united in marriage to Robert D. Dorethy, Jr on March 30, 1957. They raised their 3 children in Illinois, and in the early 1970's they moved to the Nevis area. She and Robert wintered in Granbury, Texas for many years. She worked in the Bakery at Coborn's Grocery in Park Rapids, MN. She enjoyed painting, Ceramics and knitting.
She was a loving devoted wife of 68 years. She loved her three children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her great great grandchildren. She loved her Pomeranian dog "patches" and she had many dogs over her lifetime. She will be missed dearly by her family.
She is survived by her Spouse Robert of Nevis, MN; her daughter – Debbie (Steve) Johnson of Nevis, MN; Her son – Mike (Elaina) Dorethy of Nevis, MN; Mike (Gina) Dorethy of Nevis, MN; her sister – Phyllis Ellison of Peoria, IL; her 2 brothers – Tony Gavelys of East Peoria, IL; John (Kathy) Gavelys of Surprise, AZ. 8 Grandchildren – Jamie, Michlle, Erica, Mathew, Jessica, Nathan, Scott, Rayla. 20 plus great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Albert and Irma and her 2 sisters – Sharon Kennedy, and Connie Wiseman.
Funeral Services are pending at this time.
