Aileen Atwell

Aileen Atwell of Warwick, MD died peacefully on December 5, 2025, at Newark Manor Nursing Home, she was 82 years old.

Aileen was born on February 20, 1943, in Bartley, WV to the late Arch and Julia Puckett.

She was proud of her twenty-seven-year career as a Postmaster Relief for Warwick and Earleville Post Offices of Maryland. She also enjoyed working for Ben Franklin Department Store and Vido Screen Video Store, both of Middletown, DE.

Aileen took pride in her home and yard, and on any given summer day you could find her mowing her lawn and tending to her flowerbeds.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Walter Atwell and her eldest sister, Juanita Strasser.

She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Teat (Wade), and Michele French; two grandchildren, Kyle Teat (Melissa), and Megan Teat, two great-grandchildren Emma and Levi Teat, four siblings, Don Puckett (Evelyn), Jo Wingo (George), Shirl Connors, and Edith Bower, as well as many nieces and nephews. She cherished her family immensely.

The family would like to give their gratitude to Newark Manor Nursing Home for the exceptional care they provided to Aileen over the past six years. Especially the second-floor staff for their daily care of her. They would also like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for the comfort they provided the last week of Aileen's life.

At Aileen's request, there will be no service at this time. A Celebration of Life is being planned for spring of 2026.
