Aileen H. Barshinger

Aileen H. (Flory) Barshinger, 91, of Red Lion, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at WellSpan York Hospital.

Born on November 7, 1934 in Dallastown, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Charlotte (Dehoff) Flory.

She was the devoted wife of Donald E. Barshinger, with whom she would have celebrated 73 years of marriage on April 18th. The couple shared 72 wonderful years together.

Aileen was a 1952 graduate of Dallastown High School and dedicated most of her life to being a loving homemaker. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-working in her search-a-word puzzle books, reading The Daily Bread, and cheering on her beloved Philadelphia Phillies. Aileen especially loved cooking and baking for her family and all of the family get togethers. She took great pride in her flowers, particularly the roses grown by her husband. She also enjoyed birdwatching and could often be found feeding peanuts to the blue jays she adored.

In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by her four children: Steven Barshinger and his wife, Penny; Judy Donaldson and her late husband, Stanley; John Barshinger and his wife, Kim; and Donnie Barshinger and his wife, Donna. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott, Matthew, Jennifer, and Laura; and her great-grandchildren, Lacie and Harper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Stanley Donaldson; and her brothers, Donald, Roger, Paul, and David.

A viewing will be held from 9:00–10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main Street, Dallastown. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Scheffer officiating. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
