Charles R. "Satch" Huson Sr.

Charles "Satch" R. Huson, Sr., 90, of Red Lion, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was the husband of the late Joan C. (Holler) Huson, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage, and the loving companion of over 25 years to the late Janet Velez, who passed away on January 10, 2026.

Born February 15, 1935, in Dallastown, Charles was the son of the late John M. and Gertrude M. (Diffendoll) Huson. He was a graduate of Dallastown High School and was employed for many years as an electrician with Cole Steel and New Standard.

Charles enjoyed bus tours, car rides, cruises, dining out, bluegrass and gospel concerts, casinos, and having water battles with his family-activities that brought him great joy and laughter.

He is survived by his children: Charles R. Huson, Jr.; Cathy Stine and her husband, Barry, of Red Lion; Allen B. Huson and his wife, Pat, of Lewisberry Road in York; and Craig R. Huson of Dover. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as his sister, Mildred Henry, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Markey; a brother, Richard Huson; a daughter, Cindy Schalk; and a niece, Judy Markey.

A service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main Street, Dallastown, PA 17313, with a viewing held prior beginning at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion–Potosi Cemetery.
