Dean M. Gable

Dean M. Gable, 73, of Jacobus, PA, passed away on December 9, 2025. He was born on December 31, 1951, in York, PA, to the late Ralph W. E. and Verna L. (Gladfelter) Gable.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Vonnie; his daughter, Sherrie L. Walker; his granddaughter, Bryn A. Walker; his sister, Sandy Peterson; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Gable.

Dean graduated from Dallastown Area High School, Class of 1970, and proudly served in the Pennsylvania National Guard from 1970 to 1976. He was a dedicated member of Red Lion Lodge No. 649 Free and Accepted Masons. He was also a long-time member of Goodwill Fire Co. No. 1 in Jacobus, where he volunteered as Fire Police and served his community with deep commitment.

Throughout his working years, Dean held various jobs, some of which being at Conrad's Deli and Safeway Grocery Store. He later worked for Martin's Chips and Bimbo Bakeries, at both he drove a delivery truck. Outside of work, he was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and loved cheering on his team.

A memorial service to celebrate Dean's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on December 19, 2025, at Salem Christian Church, 24 Franklin St, Jacobus, PA 17407 with Rev. Kevin Becker officiating. There will be a visitation held prior beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at which the service will begin with a blessing provided by Red Lion Lodge No. 649 Free and Accepted Masons followed by the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dean's honor may be made to Goodwill Fire Co. No. 1 Jacobus; 1 S Main St, Jacobus, PA 17407.
