Aileen Murphy Browning

Aileen Murphy Browning was a petite but mighty spitfire born on a blustery winter day on January 23, 1936 in Calvary, Kentucky. An answered prayer, she went peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loved ones on June 11, 2024.
A fiercely independent woman, Aileen loved music, reading, and dancing the night away at the Jane Todd Inn. Her favorite song was "Together Again" by Ray Charles. She read so often she even joked she had read every book in the Marion County Public Library, she especially loved novels by Debbie Macomber. She was a devout Catholic at St. Augustine Church and proud employee of Hagan O'Daniel Pharmacy and Pat's Pharmacy for over 60 years.
To know her was to know love. She was selfless with a kind heart and youthful soul that matched her effervescent smile. A devoted wife and mother she lit a path so her family could shine. Known affectionately as "Mudder" to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she loved supporting them in their many extracurricular activities. Mudder was everything to her family, as they were to her. Her death has left an irreplaceable void. Mudder may your beautiful light always shine on with all who know you until we are "together again".
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edgar Browning; parents, Thomas Murphy, Anna Clarice Spalding; brother, Lawrence Murphy.
Survivors include her three children, Jennifer (Earl) Thompson of Lebanon, Brian (Sherry) Browning of Lebanon, Jill Browning of Lexington; four grandchildren, Nicole (Michael) Cambron, Dylan Browning (Marissa Murphy), Paige (John) Batcheldor, Murphy Thompson; two great-grandsons, Harley and Reece Cambron; two special nieces, Jenny (Matthew) Higdon, Amy (Roger) Badgett; two brothers, Lum (Rita) Murphy of Louisville, Abner Murphy of Loretto; two sisters, Linda (Irvin) Reynolds of Lebanon, Jane Salsman of Lexington.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Bosley Funeral Home with a prayer service that will be held at 7:00 P.M.; officiated by Deacon Joe Dant.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 14, 2024 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment to follow in Lebanon National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pat Mattingly, Matthew Higdon, Dylan Browning, Nicole Cambron, Michael Cambron, Russell Reynolds
