Aileen Clemmer was born December 8, 1933 in Medford, Oregon, the youngest child of Arthur and Grace (Gregory) Sellars. Aileen's sister Lucille was seven years older. Aileen's great-grandparents originally settled in the Rogue Valley in the 1860s. In the late 1930s, both Aileen and her father contracted tuberculosis and were admitted into the State Sanitarium in Salem, where Arthur died in 1939 and Aileen spent a year by herself there at about five years of age. Upon her recovery and return to home Aileen attended schools in Central Point and graduated from Crater High School in 1952.

On February 14, 1953, she married Charles William (Chuck) Clemmer in Medford. Together they had three daughters (Charleen, Sharon, and Ellen). Both Chuck and Aileen were actively serving as Jehovah's Witnesses, having learned the truth from the Bible in their youth from their parents. They both loved Bible study and were involved in the public ministry with many of their close friends in the congregations they were associated with. In 1959 the family moved from the Rogue Valley to Evanston, Wyoming where they spent the next 10 years assisting the small congregation there. The family returned to the Rogue Valley to assist their parents and were involved in congregations in Central Point and Eagle Point. In 1994 Chuck and Aileen moved to Kansas to help her sister and family, returning to Oregon in 2000 and settling in Mt. Angel near their daughter Sharon. Aileen's husband Chuck passed away suddenly in 2002, just short of their 50th wedding anniversary. Twelve years later Aileen moved to Wallowa County to be near her daughter Charleen, and returned to the Willamette Valley in early 2023 and settled in Stayton where she passed away at home November 17, 2025.

During Aileen's life, she worked outside the home in various places such as Dumas Dry Cleaners in Medford, also private house cleaning, and for some 20 years worked alongside her husband in their landscape maintenance business in the Medford area. She worked for 14 years helping with visitations for Unger Funeral Chapel in Mt. Angel. She also enjoyed tending to flowers, cooking, puzzles, and watching wildlife.

Survivors include daughters Charleen (Dale) Worden of Enterprise, Sharon (Mike) Hanscom of Salem, and Ellen Mann of Roseville, CA, and grandchildren Dustin Worden of LaGrande, Owen (Brittney) Hanscom of Charleston, SC, and Cyrus (Phoebe) Mann of Dana Point, CA, sister-in-law Barbara Hammersley of Sparks, NV, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 675 Mildred Lane SE, Salem.
