Aileen N. Neidert, of Canton, Ohio, passed away August 26, 2024, at the age of 94 following a life well-lived and enjoyed. She was born February 25, 1930, in Akron, OH to Andrew and Nellie (Prescher) Neidert and graduated from Garfield High. With an adventurous spirit, Aileen moved to San Francisco in 1963 where she was employed by Bechtel Engineering as an Executive Secretary. She later transferred to Houston with the company and after 23 years, took early retirement. She worked for Methodist Hospital in Houston before fully retiring in 1998. In the following years, Aileen moved to Goodyear, AZ and Denton, TX before settling down in Tucson, AZ in 2007. In Tucson she loved the weather, scenery, and spending time with her beloved bird, Pechuco. At 92, Aileen decided to move back to Ohio after 60 years away and cherished the extra quality time this allowed her with her family. She got up each day eager to work on her next project, kept up with the changing times, and was fiercely independent. Aileen's passions included interior decorating, flower gardening, and creating special memories for her family. Above all, she was a true inspiration to her loved ones because of her determination, thoughtfulness, and uncommon ability to make the people in her life feel special.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Andrew Neidert (Henriette) and Robert Neidert (Eleanor). Aileen is survived by her Niece Christine Borello (Robb); Nephews David (Sue); Paul (Carol); Mark (Lisa) and their families.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family. Donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
