Alan Blazei Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 5, 2026.
Alan "Al" Steven Blazei, age 70, passed away after a brief illness on January 25, 2026, in San Carlos, California.

Al was born on December 28, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Ruth and Roman Blazei, and grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota, where he earned an MBA. He became a CPA, and went on to build a long and successful career, serving as a Chief Financial Officer for many years.

Al loved to travel, spend time with family and friends, enjoy a good glass of wine, and play pickleball, bocce, and card games. He was very much a practical, down-to-earth person - always true to himself. Al was fun, determined, and deeply intelligent. People often commented on his trademark sharp wit and sense of humor. He had a rare ability to bring people together, forming close circles of friends and family wherever he went, and he always made time for the people he loved.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Alecia Blazei; his children, Daniel Blazei and Suzanne Blazei; his siblings, Lynn Olson, Ken Blazei, Wayne Blazei, Terry Melcher, Mark Blazei, Mike Blazei, Annette Hampton; and his cherished grandchildren, Sadie, Charlotte, Jack, Heidi, and Mieke.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you make a contribution in Al's name to a charitable organization of your choice.
