We recently had our 65th and final high school reunion of Chula Vista High and Hilltop High School. As our senior class was split because of the new Hilltop High School that was completed the summer before or senior year, half of us remained at CV and half went to Hilltop. Alan was at Hilltop as was I. He was the first Student Body president and our class was a trailblazer for Hilltop. Alan contributed to many of the student body policies and activities. He was an active reunion committee member and was greatly missed at our final one on September 4, 2025

We love and miss you dad. A true grandpa, dad, and friend. Thank you for all of your guidance, and thank you for always being there when we needed you. No better person to have in your corner. Forever will you be remembered and loved.

Alan was an outstanding person to know! " I first met him in the eighth grade and we remained friends throughout our school years. Together with Jim Rheim we ran for school office that first year at Hilltop High School. We formed a 'party' and called ourselves "ALJISU". We won! It was a busy, hectic, and fun senior year for us all. Alan contributed much, to his school and to his community. What a nice person! My condolences to his family.

We were close friends our senior year at Hilltop High school in Chula Vista, CA. Had lots of shared experiences during that special year in our lives. After graduation in 1860, I went off to college in another state and Alan remained in San Diego for school. We were able to stay in touch fur a while but as he said 60 years later when we reconnected at a school reunion, youth and distance kept us from remaining touch. He told me how much he loved his boys as he called them, and that he shared everything with them. I send my sincerest condolences to them and the rest of his family in the loss of his presence in their lives. As he said to me after losing his beloved wife, Elayne; it's hard but we do the best we can. Amen and RIP
