Alan Castle

With profound sorrow and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle. Who was peacefully called home on Friday, September 6,2024 at the age of 68, surrounded by family. Alan was a resident and native of New Orleans, Louisiana. Alan was born on September 18, 1955 to the late Joyce Castle and the late Samuel Castle Jr. Alan attended the ARC of Greater New Orleans (Nashville Street) until his health declined. He looked forward to going and couldn't wait to get home to tell his family about his day. Despite physical limitations, due to Cerebral Palsy, Alan loved everything sports. From playing horseshoes in the Magnolia, football with the neighborhood kids( Amelia&Baronne) church parking lot, and watching the New Orleans Saints win or lose. He would enjoy watching Cohen High School students practice during sports and Mardi Gras Seasons. The kids would look forward to spending time with him. Alan was like a local celebrity. Alan would visit all the restaurants and stores in the neighborhood as well. Alan's condition did not limit him from anything he wanted to do. Alan would walk to Ware's Record Store on Lasalle and Louisiana to buy records to add to his collection. He enjoyed listening to every genre of music from albums he collected throughout the decades. He also loved to watch the marching band's every Mardi Gras Season. Alan is preceded in death by his mother; Joyce Castle, Father; Samuel Castle Jr., brother; Samuel Castle |||, and niece; Terrilyn Causey. He will be forever loved and remembered by his surviving siblings; Edna Castle-Grant, Jerry and Terry Causey, Alicia Castle-Harrison(Rodney), Erica Hayes(Gerald), Enrika Castle ( Horace),nephews; Thomas Grant and Trey Causey, nieces; Tia, Unique, and Gerilyn Hayes, Angela Causey, D'Amoure Dorsey, great niece; Journi' Hayes. Also a host of cousins and friends. Alan's home going will be private.
