Alan Clugston Obituary

Alan Michael Clugston
Kennesaw, GA
June 2, 1997 - May 19, 2024
On May 19th, 2024, Alan M. Clugston (26), passed unexpectedly from this world. Alan resided in Baldwin, MI for the majority of his life, graduating from Baldwin High School in 2015 and later moving to Kennesaw, GA. In his time Alan was a friend and steadfast companion to anyone he met, always going the extra mile to help anyone he felt he could. He was a presence in any room, making conversation and laughing aloud often.
Alan loved baseball, spending time with his family, and fishing with his grandpa, Jim Warren. He was well traveled, often insisting on stopping to experience anything interesting he came across in his journeys.
Alan is survived by his mother Karen Warren of Reed City, MI and his father Michael Clugston (Jamie) of St Clair Shores, MI. His brothers, Tyler Clugston of Cadillac, MI, Zachary Clugston, and Ethan Clugston of St Clair Shores, MI. Grandmother Gladys Warren of Reed City, MI. Uncles Grant Warren (Leslie) of Ball Ground, GA and Greg Warren of Cadillac, MI, as well as a host of cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Baldwin Community Church (formerly the Baldwin Congregational) on June 29th, 2024 at 1pm. The church is located at 870 Beech St. Baldwin, MI. We invite anyone who knew Alan to come celebrate his life and memory. Alan, unfortunately, was not long for this life, but the impact he made in his time was profound. In lieu of flowers we encourage donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Thank you.

I was so blessed to spend Thanksgiving with Alan a couple of years ago. He was very proud of his vegetable casserole when presented it to me. Such a smile on his face! Very nice young man. He will be missed.

The day he was born. He was the greatest joy of my life. His brother Tyler followed a little less than 20 months later. Alan has a wicked sense of humor and a ready hug for his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Alan was a student in my fourth grade classroom. He was a kind and respectful young man. He was an enthusiastic learner and a friend to all! My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I was Alan's pre-school teacher. I was required to make two home visits. One before school began and one when we finished. I first met Alan at the first home visit. While talking with his mother, Alan and his younger brother Tyler were running around the house and jumping on the furniture. I thought, oh boy am I in for some excitement with this one. However, Alan fit right in with the rest of my class. I had lots of contact with both the boys through there school years and with their grandpa. Talked a lot about fishing with all of them.
