Alan Willard Darling, a cherished husband, devoted father, loving grandfather, and esteemed brother, departed this life on March 11, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by family. Born on May 2, 1964, in Montrose, Pennsylvania, Alan brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered throughout his remarkable journey.

A proud veteran, he served honorably in the US Army, embodying the spirit of dedication and sacrifice. His military service left an indelible mark on his life, shaping him into the compassionate and respectful individual many will remember. He also was an Elk Lake High School graduate of 1984 and attended Keystone College.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jenice Mae Darling, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they created a warm and loving home filled with joy and laughter. Alan was a devoted father to his three daughters, Cristina Darling (Shawn Wise), Amber Hillgren (Joe Hillgren), and Stephanie Darling, who were the light of his life. His legacy continues with his grandchildren, Emily, Zachary, and Nathaniel, who brought him immeasurable happiness and pride.

The bonds of brotherhood were strong for Alan, as he is survived by his brothers, Willard Darling, Floyd Darling, and David Darling, who shared countless memories and experiences that will be treasured forever. Alan also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends, each of whom played a significant role in his life, contributing to the love and support that surrounded him.

He was the son of Josephine Anne (Cicon) Darling and the late Willard Glen Darling. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Darling, his sister, Barbara Hatcher, and his niece, Missy Yeager. They, along with Alan, form a family now reunited in love and peace.

The family wishes to honor Alan’s wishes of cremation, and a memorial service will be held in his memory on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home in Glasgow, Kentucky, from 4:30 PM until the service begins at 7:00 PM. Those whose lives he touched are invited to share in the remembrance of a life well-lived. Military honors will be provided by the DAV Glasgow Chapter #20, a fitting tribute to a man who loved his country and served it selflessly.

As we say goodbye to Alan Willard Darling, we hold onto the cherished memories and lessons he imparted, for he remains in our hearts forever.
