Sheila Diana Payne, a cherished daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away on February 11, 2026, in her hometown of Glasgow, Kentucky. Born on November 15, 1960, Sheila lived a life devoted to her family and community.
Sheila was born to William Ellis and Nora Cowan Payne, both of whom have predeceased her and forever hold a special place in her memory. She received her associate's degree in nursing, showcasing her commitment to caring for others, both professionally and personally.
A quiet soul, Sheila appreciated moments spent in solitude, reflecting the contemplative nature of her personality. This characteristic endeared her to many who understood the depth of her kindness and gentle spirit.
Sheila is survived by her brother, David Payne and his partner Judy Jennings; and her nephew, David Payne (Brandi Brown). She also leaves behind her great-nieces, Aubrey Cabe (Matthew) and Makenzie Payne, who brought joy and light into her life.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, February 16th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday, February 15th and Monday until time for the service at the funeral home.
Sheila's loving nature and gentle spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion and quiet strength will continue to inspire those who remain.
