Alan Delmar

Alan "Al" Joseph Delmar Jr., age 66, of Barrington, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024. Born on October 26, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA, Al grew up in Woodlynne, NJ, and attended Paul VI High School.
Al was a talented electrician who worked at various places throughout his life. He was also very handy, and was always willing to help out friends and family members in need. Beyond his career, he was a man of many passions. He loved to spend his free time painting; playing his guitar; and caring for his cherished birds: Tinker, Snowie, Sunny, Sky, and Kiwi. His artistic spirit and deep love for animals were evident to all who knew him.
A proud veteran, Al served in the New Jersey Army National Guard as part of Battery A, 1st Battalion, 112th Field Artillery. His service to his country was a source of great pride for him.
Al is survived by his three children: Adam Delmar, Ian Delmar, and Allisha (née Delmar) Plotcher; as well as his sister, Donna Delmar; his niece, Chelsie Sweeney; his nephew, Ryan Sweeney; and a large circle of loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Elsie Delmar.
Al will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and the laughter he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Services are private at the request of the family.
The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the community of friends who brought so much joy and love into Al's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Al's memory to a charity of your choice.
