Richard Wayne Delmar Jr.

Richard Wayne Delmar, Jr., born on September 14, 1960, in Rosenberg, Texas, to the late Richard and Al Jean "Jean" Delmar, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Richard was a proud alumnus of Lamar Consolidated High School, class of 1979, and continued his education at Southwest Texas State University, class of 1983. His professional journey was marked by significant contributions as General Manager at Delmar Distributing, the family business until 1996 when the business was sold and became a part of Houston Distributing Company, where he served as the Area Manager for Fort Bend County, working diligently until his retirement in February 2015. Richard's life was enriched by his deep love for his family and his passions. An avid golfer in his retirement, Richard made numerous new acquaintances at the Weston Lakes Country Club. He enjoyed the thrill of horse racing throughout his life, being brought up in the family horse-racing business, and continued to follow the sport after retiring from the racing industry. Richard thoroughly enjoyed the company of his friends and family, including all his grandchildren and granddogs, often reminiscing and telling stories of his youth. These hobbies brought him joy and were a testament to his zest for life.
He is survived by his wife Janice Delmar; his devoted son, Jackson Delmar and wife Lauralea Delmar; his beloved daughter, Kathy Stiles and husband Jonathan Stiles; stepdaughter Krista Tagen; grandchildren Grayson and Weston Stiles; his loving sister, Melody Butler and husband Mitch Butler; and nieces and nephews McKenzie DePinto, Mimi Butler, and Merritt Butler. Richard's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends, who will remember him for his warmth, generosity, and the joy he brought into their lives and the lives of everyone he met.
Richard Wayne Delmar, Jr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and as he would say – "We'll see ya on down the road."
