Alan “Dutch” Carol Jenkins, Sr., 78, of Whitmire, South Carolina, widower of Linda Jenkins, passed peacefully surrounded by family.
Born July 1, 1947, in Newberry, he was the son of the late Michael and Ellen Oxner Jenkins.
Dutch grew up working alongside his family on their dairy farm, a place where he learned the value of hard work and humility—traits that carried him through life. He later built a long and dedicated career in the insurance industry, where he worked for more than 25 years. A faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, Dutch lived simply and joyfully, finding his greatest happiness in the company of those he loved. His quiet strength, steady presence, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
He is survived by his son, Alan Carol Jenkins, Jr., and his wife Toni of Whitmire; his daughters, Tina Homesley and her husband Cameron of Murrells Inlet, and Wista Alexander and her husband Todd of Whitmire; his brother, Elmer Jenkins of Whitmire; his sister, Francis Adams of Union. Dutch also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
In addition to his parents and his wife Linda, Dutch was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Plemmons and Ruthie Garner, and his brother, Vernon Jenkins.
Funeral Services will be held, Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 5-7 PM at Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
