Alan "Big Al" Randall Himschoot, 68, passed away on March 13th, 2025 in Baudette, MN.
Al was born February 12th, 1957 to Neal and Sylvia Himschoot in Waterloo, Iowa. He graduated from North Tama High School, class of 1975, in Traer, IA where he participated in wrestling and football.
During his working years, he farmed with his father and had a passion for carpentry. He did handyman work and chartered boats on Lake of the Woods for Randall's Resort and others.
He looked forward to visits from family and friends who came to fish, including longtime friends, Jim Harmsen and his family.
He had a unique sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. In particular, he used to entertain his nieces and nephews by cracking imaginary eggs on their heads and eating live minnows (always swallow them head first!). He was opinionated, caring, generous, known for his ability to hold a grudge, and was always willing to help friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents Neal and Sylvia, brothers Steven and Brian, and sister Cindy. He is survived by his sister Janice, and many nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.
There are no formal services planned, so if you would like to share a memory, please do so on www.helgesonfuneralhome.com.
The family invites you to raise an ice cold PBR in Big Al's memory.
