Alan Robert Jones, 62, of Hawkins, Texas died on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Alan was born on November 10, 1961 in Opa-Locka, Florida to Bobby Joe Jones and Donna Akins Jones.
Alan, as a family man, was known for spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren whom he adored. Alan was an awesome cook and great woodworker. He was a craftsman and spent many years building homes and drawing house plans. In his younger years he also enjoyed playing basketball, softball, golf and volleyball. He leaves behind many wonderful memories to all who knew him.
Alan is survived by his wife of 38 years, Catherine Black Jones; daughter, Stacey Edwards and husband Tory, of Katy; son, Randy Jones and wife Christine, of Big Sandy; mother, Donna Jones of Big Sandy; sister-in-law, Darlene Jones of Hawkins; brothers, Tom Jones, Charlie Jones and Stacey, and Billy Jones, all of Big Sandy; sister, Kathryn (Orsburn) Burt and husband Tim, of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Lane Alan Edwards, Abigail Cate Jones and Luke Aaron Edwards soon to arrive, as well as many other family and friends.
Alan is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Jones and brothers, Wayne Jones and John Jones.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon in the Croley Funeral Home Chapel, Hawkins, Texas.
