Alan Keith McCloy, 67, of Parkersburg, WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 23, 2025.
Born March 22, 1958, in Parkersburg, he was the son of Ralph and Barbara McCloy. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, and his mother- and father-in-law, Gene and Phyllis Dailey. He is survived by his mother, Barbara; his two sisters; and his brother-in-law, Eugene Dailey.
On December 31, 1977, Keith married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life, Carolyn Dailey. Together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage, building a family rooted in faith, love, and laughter. He was a devoted husband who showed what it meant to love and support his wife, and a proud father to his four sons—Jeremy (Stacy), Justin (Rebecca), Jerod (Sarah), and Jansen (Hope). Keith showed his boys how to be real fathers themselves, and he was a cherished Pappy to his 11 grandchildren: Conner (Maddie), Riley, Olivia, Kolten, Isabella, Amelia, Landen, Easton, Callie, Jacksen, and Xander. His family was his greatest joy, and he never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.
Keith graduated from Pennsboro High School in 1976. He worked hard his entire life, beginning at Mid-Atlantic Glass in Ellenboro right out of high school, later serving as a production supervisor at Stork’s Bakery, and most recently as a body shop estimator at Astorg Auto. Wherever he worked, Keith was known for his dedication, honesty, and the friendships he built along the way.
A man of deep Christian faith, Keith attended 19th Street Church of God in Parkersburg, WV, where he was appointed “Honorary Head Deacon” by Pastor Jimmie Cox, whom he loved dearly. He was also a member of the church’s softball team. Keith lived with kindness, integrity, and a servant’s heart. He loved the simple joys of life—golfing with his boys and his Uncle Larry at the Pennsboro High School Alumni Tournament, hunting and fishing, family camping trips to Smoke Hole, and traveling with his family as well as with his Uncle Bob and Aunt Kim McCloy. Spending time with the people he loved most brought him the greatest happiness. Whether he was outdoors or at home, Keith’s greatest joy was simply being with his family. His love for them was evident in every moment, and that love will continue to live on through each of them.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at 19th Street Church of God in Parkersburg, WV, with Pastor Jimmie Cox officiating. All friends and family are warmly invited to attend and share in remembering and honoring Keith’s life.
