Alan J. Murawski

Alan J. Murawski, of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away on October 26, 2022. Although his battle with cancer was short lived, it was fierce.
Alan was born on January 16, 1959 to Alexander & Dolores Murawski in Chicago, Illinois. He played high school baseball and graduated from St. Francis De Sales in 1976. He then went on to study Electrical Engineering at Purdue University.
As an electrician by trade, and passion for fixing things, Alan began is lifelong electrical career as a walking technician. Kickstarting his success at the Wallstreet Journal, Alan moved on to manage teams of electricians and held multiple Operational leadership positions for various telecommunication companies. His passion for mentoring resulted in a following of loyal colleagues who became his best friends.
Alan met his soulmate, Gail, when they were only 15 years old. Years later, they went on to have 2 children, Katelyn and Alex Murawski. Being a father was Alan's most cherished accomplishment, and he was good at it. He was a father who taught life lessons in the most practical ways - and almost always with humor. The family lived and loved hard. Together, they built a home that was always open to friends, who quickly became family.
In life, Alan loved rooting for the Chicago White Sox - and whoever was playing the Cubs! He enjoyed attending sporting events, concerts, golf, and a good cigar. Among his many talents, Alan had a special way of captivating people and could make anyone laugh. Alan is survived by his wife and children, beloved sister Judy, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation to be held at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Life Tribute & Eulogy will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Rd., Chesterton, IN 46304, Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 10:30 am. Celebration of life to follow at Gelsosomo's Pizzeria at 12pm
