ALAN JAY PRATT, SR.

    Alan J. Pratt, Sr., 63, of Cass City, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 in Beaumont Hospital, Troy with family and friends by his side. He was born July 20, 1960 in Cass City to Arthur Jay and Mary Helen Evelyn (Woodard) Pratt.  
    Alan graduated from Cass City High School in 1978, where he participated in football, baseball, and wrestling. He continued his passion for sports and coached his two sons in wrestling and travel baseball for many years. Alan was proud to watch his grandchildren compete in wrestling meets, continuing the family tradition. He was employed as an automotive designer. Alan loved to attend car shows, especially viewing the hot rod cars which led to his part in designing the Chevrolet SSR. Alan appreciated being in God’s beauty especially when hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed kayaking, skiing, horseback riding, and golf. He was a true family man and was very proud of his family. Alan was a member of Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City.  
    Alan is survived by his sons: Alan J. Pratt Jr. of Lake Orion, Jake (Natalie) Pratt of Lake Orion; step-children: Justin Mitchell of Breckenridge, CO; Amanda (Jon) Guzman of Metamora; grandchildren: Jace, Brantley, Brecken, Brayden, Everleigh, Anastasia, Liam, Emily, Macyn, Kenzington; his mother, Mary Helen Pratt of Deford; sisters: Michelle (Dennis) Hendrick of Deford; JoEllen (Joe) Bukoski of Cass City; many nieces and nephews; dear friend, Dawn Meffer of Bad Axe. Alan is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Pratt; and his grandparents.  
    Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City with Brad Speirs officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to be used at their discretion.
 
Visitation:      4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024 in Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City
                      10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 in Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City
