Donald J. Pratt, Sr., 78, formerly of Carroll Township, Perry County, passed away on July 23, 2025, at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation in Harrisburg.

Born on September 10, 1946, in Harrisburg, Don was a son of the late George W. and Edna E. (Sheets) Pratt.

Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. During his working life, he was a dedicated employee of the Central Storage Co., for many years, and later retired from Overnight Trucking Co. following 12 years of service.

Don was a man of many interests, all of which highlighted his love for life and adventure. His mechanical abilities were nothing short of extraordinary, as he could often be found building or fixing anything that caught his interest. Don also had a tremendous love for the outdoors – whether boating, camping, or simply tending to his lawn, he was happiest in the embrace of nature. Family gatherings at Raystown Lake were among his most treasured moments. Over the years, he also enjoyed car shows, NASCAR, shooting pool and the magic of family trips to Disney World and Las Vegas with Carolyn.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carolyn L. (Palmer) Pratt; daughter, Kimberly A. Pratt and sons, Donald J. (Allison) Pratt, Jr. and Stephen Pratt. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda, Alison, Nathan, Olivia, Hailey, Riley, Shayne, Ryan, Julia, and Haley, as well as his great grandchildren, Rhianan, Brynlee, Bryson, Charlie, and Cameron. In addition to his parents, Don was also preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Nickels and brothers, Franklin Pratt and Robert Pratt.

His committal with military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, will be held at the convenience of the family.
