Alan Readinger Obituary
He was the loving husband of Catherine E. "Cathy" (Taggart) Readinger. They married on July 28, 1962.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Judge Albert S. Readinger and Ruth (Styer) Readinger.
He was a graduate of Reading High School; Lafayette College, and Dickinson School of Law where he was a member of Law Review.
Alan served our nation in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
Alan practiced law in Reading his entire career. Alan was a past President of the Berks County Bar Association. In addition, he held the position of President of the following Boards: Reading YMCA, Children's Home of Reading, and the Campfire Girls.
Family and faith were important to Alan, he was an active member of Calvary United Church of Christ, Reading.
He had a passion for golf and loved to travel, taking in the beauty of various gardens. Most importantly, he cherished the moments spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife and two children, Andrew T. Readinger, husband of Joanne Murray, London, England, and Beth, wife of Paul Householder, Phoenix, AZ; and five grandchildren: Jake, Nick, Reagen, Lauren, and Maxwell.
He was predeceased by his sister, Sallie Ann Readinger.
A Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00a.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial was private. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30a.m. to 11:00a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601.
