Alan Richardson
1948-2025
Alan Richardson, born on January 28, 1948, in New York, New York, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 18, 2025, in Whitsett, North Carolina, at the age of 77. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose life was marked by a passion for engineering, music, and family.
Alan's journey began in the bustling streets of New York City, where he was welcomed into the world by his parents, Robert Tindale and Lorna Muriel Newman Richardson, who both preceded him in death. He pursued his studies in engineering in England, a path that would lead him to a fulfilling career as an engineer and designer with B/E Aerospace. His work was characterized by precision and creativity, reflecting his dedication to his chosen field.
Beyond his professional life, Alan had a deep love for music, particularly rock and roll. In his youth, between the ages of 18 and 22, he had the extraordinary opportunity to play guitar with The Rolling Stones, a testament to his talent and passion. He cherished the simple pleasures in life, including a good glass of scotch and an evening spent dancing.
Alan is survived by his devoted wife, Dora Richardson; his sons, Adam Richardson and wife Linda of Cape Town, South Africa, and Jerry Villalobos of Miami, Florida; and his cherished grandchild, Finn Richardson. He also leaves behind his siblings, Brian Richardson, Judy Smith, and Lorne Richardson, all residing in England.
In keeping with his wishes, the family will celebrate Alan's life privately. They find solace in the memories they shared with him and the legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind.
