Alan Rogers Obituary

Alan Denton Rogers

July 9, 1939 ~ December 11, 2025

Eagle Mountain, UT - Alan Denton Rogers was born July 9, 1939 and passed away on December 11, 2025 surrounded by people he loved on both sides of the veil. His life was dedicated to his family and his faith and he worked tirelessly for the benefit of both.

He met the love of his life, Kim Gerd Fedje, in September 1962, got engaged two weeks later, and married her in the Logan temple on March 18, 1963. A year later, he graduated from the University of Utah and got hired by Bank of America.

Alan and Kim had five children in the next seven years. He spent 25 years working for Bank of America living in Chile, Panama, Peru, Colombia, California and England. He retired at 48 and spent the next 30 years in missionary service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As a young man he served 2 years in Uruguay. He and Kim served together as senior missionaries in Norway, then he served as Mission President in Colombia, MTC President in Peru, Temple Presidency in Manhattan, Hispanic Initiative in SLC and Philadelphia Pennsylvania mission, Spanish speaking. He went on to serve two more family history missions.

He worked seven years as a Liaison in the Missionary Department, and was one of the expert consultants on the new Spanish translation of the Bible.

One of his greatest joys was being a sealer in the LDS temple for 16 years where he performed the ceremonies for hundreds of couples including many of his own posterity.

He was an absolutely devoted husband, father and gospel teacher. He loved music and the arts. He took every opportunity to go fishing and always caught the most and biggest. He loved gardening and the earth seemed to love him too. He loved gardening and his countless fruits and vegetables came in abundance every year. He could build anything out of anything and loved woodworking, just like his Savior. He served in the US military for 6 years in the signal battalion.

He is survived by his wife, Kim, and children: Christina Davies (Tim), Spencer (Erin), Scott (Anna), Steffanie Anderson (Tony), and Dixie Tanner (Jared). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Alan's graduation party will be held at 11am on December 20th at 2977 E Saddle Rock Rd, Eagle Mountain, UT 84005.

Warm greetings and my deepest condolences to the Rogers family, Sister Kim and her children.

Since I served my mission in Barranquilla, Colombia, I have always held in my heart a deep gratitude for my president and mentor, President Alan D. Rogers. Thank you for your leadership, your teachings, and for the opportunity to learn and serve alongside you.

All those experiences were part of my formation as a man, a priesthood holder, a doctor, a husband, a father, and a leader in the Church.

I wish many blessings and comfort in the Lord for his wife, Kim, and his children and grandchildren.

With all my love,

Edgar Leonardo Vargas

"Death is part of the plan of happiness that our Heavenly Father has prepared for us."

A phrase I learned on my mission, and of which I have a firm testimony. Until we meet again...

All my love to his loved wife and family

Hermana Rogers
