Canandaigua – Alan C. Scrivener, age 73, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025. He is survived by two daughters, Heather (Wes) Pitzer of Denton, TX and Janelle Scrivener (Alex Roder) of Rochester, NY; two granddaughters, Alexandra and Madison Pitzer; sister, Karen Winchell; brother, Warren (Jacqueline) Scrivener; sister-in-law, Kim Scrivener; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward "Mike" Scrivener.
Alan was born in East Meadow, NY and was the son of Herbert and Ardith (McIntire) Scrivener. He and his family moved to Cohocton, NY when he was a child. Alan was a graduate of Cohocton High School. He attended SUNY Alfred and FLCC. Alan was the facilities service manager at FF Thompson Hospital for many years, retiring in 2006, due to a traumatic brain injury. He really enjoyed working on his farm. Alan loved his salt & pepper, vanilla ice cream and his dogs.
The family will celebrate his life privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario County Humane Society, 2976 Co. Rd. 48, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Arrangements are by Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., Canandaigua. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
