Alan Sherman Obituary
Alan was born in Boston, son of the late Ike & Lillian Sherman, he served honorably in the US Army and had a 38-year career with the US Postal Service. A resident of Stoughton for 52 years, before moving to Methuen, he was a member of Ahavath Torah Congregation, Stoughton, Temple Emanuel, Andover, and was also a Mason.
Alan was the devoted husband of Rochelle (Rostoff) Sherman; the beloved father of Meryl & her husband David Trachtenberg and Ed Sherman & his wife Amy Bosworth; the adored grandfather of Leah and Brianna Trachtenberg; and the dear brother of Phyllis Portnoy and the late Robert Sherman.
Services at Temple Emanuel 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover on Tuesday, December 23 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Peabody.
Condolence calls may be made at the home of Meryl & David Trachtenberg following the interment on Tuesday until 8PM and on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Veterans Northeast Outreach Center 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832 or a charity of one's choice.
