Alan Grady Speer

Alan Grady Speer, 71, passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2024. Alan was born on April 14, 1953 to Grady and Mary Ellen (Fleenor) Speer in Fairview Park, Ohio. He was a 1971 graduate of Berea High School and a 1976 graduate of University of Toledo School of Pharmacy. He married Sally Speer on November 21, 1976 in Liberty Center, Ohio, and they celebrated over 47 years together.
Alan started his pharmacy career with Revco Drug as manager of the entire store including the pharmacy. He enjoyed serving as preceptor for several interns throughout the decades and formed lifelong friendships. When Revco was absorbed by CVS he continued there, then he ended his career with Marc's Pharmacy in 2013. He served as Pharmacy System Administrator for all of the Marc's and Xpect Discounts stores.
Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventures in the western US and Africa. He had a love of photography, belonging to Erie Shore Photography Cub and the Cleveland Photography Society. He also loved his two English bulldogs.
Alan is survived by his spouse Sally, brother-in-law Roger Savage, and cousin Kristen (Fleenor) Rush. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marcia (Speer) Savage, uncle Rich Fleenor, aunt Nancy Fleenor, father-in-law Richard E. Stevens and mother-in-law Treva M. Stevens.
Memorial service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the A. RIPEPI & SONS FUNERAL HOME 18149 BAGLEY RD., MIDDLEBURG HTS. (West of I-71) where family will receive friends from 10am until the time of the memorial service. Private burial will be held in Woodvale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alan's honor may be gifted to Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter or to any Christian ministry of the donor's choice.
