Alan Charles Vincelette, Sr, a lifelong area resident passed away on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Center with his loving family at his side.
On November 28th, 1970, Alan married the love of his life, Mary Lou Greenia. They celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage. She predeceased him on March 24th, 2021.
Alan was a 1965 graduate of Bellows Free Academy and went on to obtain an Associate's Degree in Accounting in Long Beach, California. Alan had a love for music, playing his guitar brought him great joy. He also liked to play his harmonica. His favorite band was CCR, He started out in the Allard Brothers band and later formed his own band, Lodi. The band stayed together for many years. He loved to tinker around and was always busy.
Alan found joy in gardening and loved planting flowers. He loved the outdoors whether it was hunting or fishing. He was always ready to play a game of horseshoes, chess or cribbage and beat you. He was a family man who loved to spend time with his family children and grandchildren. He was so loving and kind.
He worked for many years at Northwest Counseling and Support Services as a home care provider. He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for many years. He loved the Lord.
Survivors include his children; Christy Dion and her husband Scott and their children Lacey Wolcott and Myleigh Dion; Dawn Coolbeth and her children, Brandon Coolbeth, Sierra Coolbeth and Kaleb Coolbeth; Trish Elliott and her husband, Carlton and their children Jacob Elliott and Brooke Plouffe; and great grandchildren Carsyn Therriault, Alayna Plouffe, Kasey Plouffe and Myah Plouffe; Alan Vincelette, Jr. and his children Alan, III., Noah, Isabella and Arayah. Also surviving are Alan's brother, Steven Wright as well as nieces, nephews, special cousin, Bob Callan and his best friend forever, Judy Barkyoumb.
Alan was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lou, grandson, Brett Elliott, sister, Rae Mancil and brother, David Vincelette and best friend and horseshoe partner, Alan Barkyoumb.
Funeral service for Alan will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at 1:30 PM at the First Baptist Church, 29 Congress Street, St. Albans with the Rev. William Simmons officiating. Prayers of committal will follow at Hope Cemetery in Georgia.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Church on Friday, October 17th, from 12:30 to 1:30PM.
