Sandy, UT-Alan G Winterton, 56, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, December 11, 2023, with his son Nate at his side and holding hands with his brother Scott and sister Susan. He was born on January 16, 1967, to Eldon W Winterton and Jean Goodrich Winterton. He was the fourth of five siblings, the eternal companion to Jodi Lynn Mattice Winterton, and an amazing father to Shantel, Kassie, and Nathan.

Alan was a peacemaker with a strong spirit and a kind and tender heart. He lovingly cared for his sweetheart Jodi before she passed. We know Jodi and Alan's mother Jean welcomed him with open arms as he transitioned from this earthly life.

Alan graduated in 1985 from Union High School in Roosevelt, UT. He faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the South Carolina, Columbia mission. A few of his favorite activities included photography, aerial photography, target shooting, canyon drives with music, building guns, wood carving, woodworking, and attending the temple. Spending time with family truly brought joy into Alan's life. He was most recently employed with Horrock's Engineering as a fiber optics technician.

Alan is survived by his daughter Shantel Lynn Crismon (Cyd); daughter Kassie Anita Winterton; son Nathan Alan Winterton; his father, Eldon W Winterton; sister Julie Waldyn (Pat); brother Dale G Winterton (Kelari); sister Susan Wilkerson (Don); brother Scott G Winterton (Victoria); one granddaughter Jodi Rae, a grandson on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Preceded in death by his sweetheart Jodi and beloved mother Jean.

The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Utah Valley Hospital ICU, particularly nurse Katie G. who was his first and last ICU nurse and who helped him transition from this earthly life with gentleness, love, and dignity.

A viewing will be held Sunday, December 17th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Mortuary, 4780 N University Ave., Provo, UT 84064. A brief viewing will be held on Monday, December 18th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at Herriman Butterfield Canyon Stake Center 13768 S 6400 W, Herriman, UT 84096.
