Son of Marj and Jim Woods, Grandson of AJ and Muriel Woods, and Ed and Marie Heckendorf
Farewell Alan, Icon of independence for mentally handicapped people in Casper and beyond – inspired by mother Marj and Grandfather AJ. You showed the way into the future and it has been awesome. After school and work in Casper, you landed in your boots and spurs at the Ark in Laramie and thrived in the cowboy way at the Ark Equestrian Center arena/barn! Your place in the universe at last – Wow! – a true cowboy!
Even when you hung up those spurs, the excellent staff and the beautiful horses welcomed you always. For 33 amazing years!!! Your spirit will live on – encouraging all of us to appreciate the little moments among the Big Events and the fun and silly things life tosses to us. You have changed us to be better at understanding that we all have challenges and we are all stronger for them.
Our love to you: Jane, Joe, Sage, Rayne, Cowboy.
A celebration of Alan's life will be held 20 June, 3:00 PM, at the Ark Equestrian Center, 1375 Pine Street, Laramie.
If you are inclined, donations may be made to the Ark Equestrian Center. Horses are always hungry!!!
