Albert Richard Becerra, born on June 28, 1947, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully in Cleveland, Texas, on February 15, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a proud veteran of the United States Army.
Albert enjoyed a successful career as a retired superintendent and welder for Star Steel, where he was known for his exceptional skills in building and creating. His hands could craft anything, including a playground complete with a swing set for his beloved grandchildren, embodying the very spirit of love and dedication he held for his family.
Albert was not only defined by his impressive career but also by his unshakable faith and commitment as a faithful servant to the Lord. He had a profound love for his family, especially his grandchildren, and would go to great lengths to make them happy. His personality radiated warmth, making each family gathering a cherished occasion.
In his leisure time, Albert thrived in various hobbies that connected him with the world around him. He was a passionate player of billiards, earning the affectionate title of "pool shark" among friends. He relished the opportunity to immerse himself in nature, whether that meant fishing, bow hunting, camping, or simply enjoying the great outdoors.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Guadalupe Becerra; son, Ray Becerra and wife Erika; daughters, Valerie Becerra, Anita Greensage and husband Gary; brothers, Louis Becerra and wife Karen, Rudy Becerra, Arthur Becerra, Danny Becerra and wife Stella, Gilbert Becerra; sister, Rosann Hernandez and husband Edward; grandchildren, Michael Kirkpatrick, Shyanne Clark, Jacquelyn Trevathan, Ray Becerra Jr., Kayla Greensage, Caitlin Greensage, Nicholas Greensage; and great-granddaughter, Aiyanna Clark. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and a host of friends who will remember his kindness and generosity.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Santiago Becerra and Rose Cisneros; brothers, Ray Becerra and Alex Cisneros; and granddaughter, Katherine Trevathan.
A visitation will be held at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, Texas, on February 20, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at the same location beginning at 7:00 PM. He will be interred at Houston National Cemetery on February 21, 2025, at 10:15 AM. Family and friends to meet at Neal Funeral Home February 21, 2025 at 8:30 AM to proceed at Houston National Cemetery.
Albert Richard Becerra's legacy of love, faith, and craftsmanship will forever be cherished by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
