Dewaine, a devoted Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born in Missouri, Dewaine moved to Washington State with his family at the age of 10. His family ultimately settled in Lake Chelan, where he was raised. He married his High School sweetheart, Kay, and they started their lives together. Dewaine enlisted in the Air Force, and he and his bride moved to California to be near March AFB, where he served, as well as in Guam
and Alaska. They welcomed two children while he proudly served his country.
Following his military service, he joined the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and began his lifelong career in Law Enforcement. He continued his education, earning his Masters from
Loma Linda University.
Dewaine had many passions, including SCUBA diving with his adult children in his earlier years, fishing, Backpacking, creating beautiful heirloom wooden furniture, running marathons,
studying scripture, and traveling domestically and abroad. He also loved to eat!
A man of great faith, Dewaine was a testament to the values he held dear. His kindness, generosity, and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a faithful servant
of God and a trusted friend to many.
He leaves behind his adult children, Ronald (Joanne) and Deborah (Rich), as well as his grandchildren, John (Danielle) and Stephanie (Joe), seven great-grandchildren, and a circle of
friends who will cherish his memory. His beloved wife, Kay, predeceased him.
Although he is at rest, he leaves a legacy of love, faith, and service. He is sorely missed.
