He was born in New Haven, Connecticut on February 28, 1942, to the late Victoria (Ghilardi) Tomei and Albert Tomei. He also joins his loving sister Anita (Frank) Nygard. Albert was a loving and caring man. He lived in Stoney Creek in his younger years and loved being a Creeker. He was devoted to Jesus and the Stoney Creek Congregational Church for many years. He loved the ocean, was an avid Elvis fan, he loved music but most of all he was an amazing singer. Back when he was younger, New York City was his stage, he sang all over town and even recorded a couple of songs. He was proud to serve in the United States Navy. Most of all he was a devoted husband to his wife Rosemarie (Criscuolo) Tomei for 58 years. He was a loving father to his daughter Angela (Bruce) Carrano of East Haven, sons Albert (Theresa) Tomei of Warwick, RI, Donny Tomei, East Haven and Ricky (Antonella) Tomei, West Haven. Affectionately known as 'Poppy,' he cherished his grandchildren, Michael Manacchio of East Haven, and Albert, Marisa, and Jessica Tomei of Warwick, RI, and Francesca Tomei of West Haven. He was deeply blessed to have two cherished great-grandchildren, Bryce Manacchio and Isabella Tomei.

"Our family sincerely thanks all the nurses and staff at Whispering Pines in East Haven for the kindness and care they gave him over these past few months-it meant so much to us."
