Albert E. Davis, 89, a resident of Salem, NY passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025 in Bennington, VT.

Albert was born in Searsburg, VT on July 6, 1936 to Daniel Edward and Eliza Maude (Griswold) Davis. Albert received his education in Searsburg and Woodford. He was a member of the 172nd Division of the Army National Guard.

Albert married the former Doris Cecile Dorman on May 14, 1955 in Woodford, VT. Albert and Doris were married for 67 years until the time of Doris' death on February 26, 2023. Together, they enjoyed life and traveled all over and spending winters in Florida until their health wouldn't permit it.

Albert was employed as a truck driver by many local companies, and he held many other jobs as well and retired in 1995.

Albert enjoyed life and loved going out to his favorite places and listening to live music performed by many of his musician friends and dancing to the music. He never lacked for a dance partner. When places weren't available for his musician friends to play, he set up Al's Place at his home in Salem and invited musicians, friends, and family, to play and enjoy the music, dancing, and food on Sundays. This became very popular and always drew a large crowd with fun had by all. He spent many hours outside at his firepit listening to Willie's Roadhouse and waving to the truckers as they passed by.

Albert was a member of the Cambridge, NY Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Survivors include his children and their families: Albert "Jon" Davis of Salem, NY; Peter Davis of Tucson, AZ; Timothy (Jill) Davis of Bennington, VT; Karen (Tim) Harrington of Bennington, VT; Susan Miller (Mike Baldini) of Salem, NY. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Two brothers: Francis (Mary Lou) Davis of Cheshire, MA and FL, and Dan (Betty) Davis of White Creek, NY. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and good friends - including Betty Baker.

Albert was predeceased by his wife, Doris (Dorman) Davis. His son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Davis and Robin. A daughter-in-law, Paula Davis. A sister, Leona Beatty.
