Diana Mae Corbett, 81, of Hoosick Falls, NY passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 7, 2025 while a resident of CLR in Bennington.

Diana "Dee" Corbett was born May 2, 1944 to Ralph and Minnie Moll (originally of Stillwater, NY) in Hoosick Falls, NY where she attended Hoosick Falls High School. While there, she met the love of her life, Roger Corbett, who remembers noticing a pretty girl who was laid back and sweet in a sea of "snooty" girls. When they were courting, they used to walk up Wilson Hill Road and sit on the concrete barriers to talk and attended sock hops at the municipal building where they loved to dance. They were married at the Hoosick Falls United Presbyterian church on January 20, 1962. Years later, when they returned to Hoosick Falls, they built a house just up the road from their original spot where they sat so many times and fell in love.

Diana and Roger lived briefly in Cherry Point, NC while Roger was stationed as a U.S. Marine before returning to Hoosick Falls. They were blessed with four children and had a home full of love, laughter, and plenty of Public Displays of Affection (PDA). Diana was a born caregiver and pursued a career in nursing, achieving an LPN and dedicating 5 years of her life to the patients at Bennington Hospital. Throughout her life, she also took care of multiple family members and friends as well as many beloved pets.

She was an excellent cook and gathered family and friends around her table as often as she could -usually with more food than could possibly be finished! Her cooking was always made with love (and a bit of bacon grease for flavor), and her kitchen was the heart of her home. If you swung by the house, you were as likely to find her on the lawn mower or in the garden tending to her flowers and vegetables as you were to find her sewing matching clothes for her granddaughter and her dolls, crocheting or canning her harvest. She zoomed around in her little gray bug (a stick shift) and wasn't a stranger to wearing waders and fishing for clams. She cherished vacations and time spent at camp with her family, where memories and laughter were made to last a lifetime. While she loved hiking, sledding, fishing, camping and anything outdoors, she always kept a beautiful home.

The third (and possibly greatest) blessing of her life (after Roger and her children) were her grandchildren, and eventually her great grandchildren as well. She delighted in every holiday and tradition, especially Christmas mornings when the children opened their Hess trucks, a yearly ritual that brought her so much joy.

Diana would recite Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it". We will rejoice having known Diana, someone who was caring, loving, giving and an unbelievably strong and resilient woman. She was always ready to wrap you up in a big warm hug in her soft arms and she truly was the heart of her home and family. She will be greatly missed. Diana we will always remember to "wave at the tree."

Diana is predeceased by her parents, her brothers Dickie and Ralph, and her son Paul Corbett. She leaves behind Roger Corbett, her husband of 63 years; children Wayne Corbett, Angela (Paul) Corbett, Melissa (Greg) Lockrow, and Rebecca Corbett (Charles Farnham); grandchildren Ethan (Leanne) Lockrow, Ashley (Zeb) Ferguson and Noah Corbett; great-grandchildren Zane, Zander, Zarian, Atlas, and Acen as well as nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family members.

The family would like to commend and offer sincere thanks to all the staff at CLR in Bennington, VT.

Services will be held at the Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church on Sunday, November 23 at 3:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Food Pantry of Hoosick Falls via Hoosick Area Church Association (HACA).
