Albert Peter Donate

1949 - 2024

Albert Peter Donate entered into eternal rest on April 10, 2024, at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, at the age of 75. He was born on March 23, 1949, in New Orleans, LA to the late Peter Donate and Ernestine Ladd Donate. Albert attended George Washington Carver High School, and shortly after enlisted in the United States Air Force. While enlisted in the Air Force, he became an airman stationed at England Air Force Base. Albert received an honorable discharge in 1969. Thereafter, he enrolled in Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) where he studied Mass Communications. Albert and former spouse, Peggy Ann Blunt, had three children together whom they adored: Konata Ali Donate, Zarinah Semmi Donate, and Kwame Nkrumah Donate. Albert is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, and other relatives. In addition to his parents, Mr. Donate is also preceded in death by one son, Konata Ali Donate, and two brothers Ray and David Donate. Also, the family would like to acknowledge and thank the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research, particularly Dr. Henry Clifford Kinley, the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in New Orleans, Ms. Barbara Reese of the former A&D Residential Care, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home, and Cypress Physical Therapy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service honoring the life of Albert Donate on Monday, April 22, 2024, for 10:00 a.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA 70126. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Bishop Tyrone G. Jefferson Jr., officiating. Interment will follow at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Dr., Slidell, LA 70460.
