Albert Earl Ferguson

Albert Earl Ferguson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Newport News, Virginia. Born on April 9, 1937, in Mecca, California, he lived a life devoted to his family, country, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. He was 88 years old.

Albert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, where he dedicated his career until retirement. A Vietnam Veteran, he exemplified courage and commitment, qualities that continued to define his life long after his military service concluded.

In his leisure time, Albert found solace and joy in fishing, often casting a line at dawn's first light. His evenings were spent watching the news and enjoying his favorite television shows, particularly old westerns and war movies that reminded him of times past. Above all, he treasured moments spent with his beloved family, whose presence brought him immense joy and fulfillment.

Albert was a member of the American Legion, where he shared camaraderie with fellow veterans and upheld the values of service and patriotism.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Albert Silus Ferguson and Gertrude Ferguson.

Albert leaves behind a devoted wife, Chong Sun Ferguson, who stood by his side through life's journey. He is also survived by his sister, Erlene Johnson; his daughters, Yvette Francine Ferguson and Susie Ferguson; and his sons, Albert Lee Ferguson and Albert John Ferguson. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Brandon and Maddy Ferguson. He will be fondly remembered by his in-laws, David and Chong Byrne, and Yong Chol and Jennifer Kwon. His neighbors, Frank and Sabrina Logan, will miss his warm friendship and kind spirit.

Albert Earl Ferguson will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and country, his gentle nature, and the quiet strength he displayed throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
