Al (Albert) Iapicca, a native of Saugus and East Boston, Massachusetts passed away on January 23rd. He will be remembered for his curious mind, generous spirit and love of life's simple pleasures.

Son of Teddy and Very (DeSanctis) Iapicca, he leaves behind his beloved sister, Lorraine, several cherished cousins, nephews and extended family members.

He was a proud graduate of Northeastern University, where he laid foundation for a successful career as a software engineer. Al approached his work with dedication and creativity, traits that carried through every part of his life.

Al was married for over 20 years to his beloved wife, Dana. After her passing, he shared a deeply meaningful relationship with Tina for more than 10 years.

Al spent a good portion of his life in the Sonoma Valley area of California, and later living for a brief time in New Mexico. These places became part of his story, shaping his love for travel, food, and wine.

Outside of his profession, Al had a deep appreciation for great meals and fine wine, with a special fondness for discovering bakeries wherever he went. He was an enthusiastic world traveler, always eager to explore new places, cultures, and cuisines. He had a passion for the game of Bridge and traveled extensively to compete in tournaments. A devoted dog lover, Al found comfort in the companionship of his beloved dogs, namely Grover and Daisy.

At family reunions, he was always the thread that tied the family together.

As Al requested no formal funeral services, a celebration of his life will be held in the near future.

Above all, Al will be remembered for his warmth, adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. He leaves behind many loving memories with family and friends who will miss him dearly. This wonderful tribute was written by cousin Joyce DeSanctis one of Al's close cousins.
