Albert Leo Jezyk, age 88, of Landenberg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Born in Newark, DE on September 29, 1936, he was a son of the late Leo Adams and Dorothy (Aiken) Jezyk. Albert proudly served in the United States Navy. He made his career as a lab technician at DuPont Co. until his retirement.
Albert was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, attending Ebenezer United Methodist as a child, Kemblesville and New London United Methodist Churches as an adult. He served these churches with his many talents in sports, stewardship, alter guild and maintenance. He also enjoyed giving back to his community as a member of the Odd Fellows. Albert was a natural athlete and leader, on and off the field. He had a passion for sports, playing, coaching and watching. He participated in many local sports leagues and was a coach for the Newark Area Football League. He especially loved to spend his time outdoors and could often be found playing horseshoes, hunting, fishing, or boating. Albert spent countless hours tending to his large vegetable and flower garden. Most of all Albert was dedicated to his family and cherished his many friendships.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Gray) Jezyk; and siblings, Helen Lamiet and Frank A. Jezyk. He is survived by his children, Albert L. Jezyk, Jr. and Laura Jezyk Geiman; grandchildren, Lindzy Davis, Ian Geiman, and Neil Geiman; and numerous nieces and nephews that he treasured.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11:30 am on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Christ Church at the Grove, 1772 New London Road, Landenberg, PA, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Albert's memory to New London United Methodist Church, 1008 State Road, New London Township, PA 19352.

Al was a special guy. He would help anyone out. He was always smiling and very positive.
Special times....Ken loved to play horse shoes with the group and remembers Thelma playing the piano.

He will be really really missed.

Condolences and love to his family.

In 1963 , Frank and I got married and lived in the Newark area near my Uncle Tom and Aunt Violet Gray.
We were privileged to enjoy their home and family members with Thelma and Albie especially , many times. We thought alot of them both and we always respected Albie as he was always himself , with no "airs" and was always likeable and easy to talk to.
We loved and respected Thelma , a wonderful person.
