Albert Harvey Johnson, known affectionately as Harvey by his loved ones, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on June 4, 1947, in Sugar Land, Texas to Albert J. and Wanda Waydene (Marley) Johnson. Harvey's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community. Harvey grew up in Skiatook, where he completed his education, graduating in 1965. His commitment to service was evident early on as he enlisted in the United States Army on June 23, 1966. After serving his country with honor and receiving his discharge on June 21, 1968, Harvey continued to contribute as a reservist, amassing a combined total of 33 years in the armed forces. Harvey retired as a Hazmat Crew Chief in 2008, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to safety in the workplace. Harvey's passions were as rich and varied as his life experiences. He was an avid reader, finding solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. His love for the outdoors was evident in his meticulously kept yard, which was not just a hobby but a canvas that showcased his love for nature. Sports also played a significant role in Harvey's life, particularly his enthusiastic support for the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooner Football teams. Family was the cornerstone of Harvey's life.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Barbara, with whom he shared a life full of joy, challenges, and unwavering partnership. His legacy lives on through his children, Valerie Ann Beck, Kimberly Kay White and her husband Raymond, and David Eric Johnson and his fiancée Tiera Geisinger. Harvey was a cherished patriarch to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness. Harvey is also survived by his three brothers, Jack Johnson and his wife Kathy, Bill Johnson and his wife Susan, and Richard Johnson and his wife Mary. His extended family includes several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends, each of whom he touched with his kindness, humor, and generosity.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Albert Johnson and Wanda Johnson Burton, who instilled in him the values of integrity and respect that he carried throughout his life.
As we remember Harvey, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. His was a life lived with honor, commitment, and an unwavering sense of duty.
