I am so sorry at the passing of Albert. We had many wonderful discussions about the stones, marbles and brachiopod fossils - particularly in the Grand Staircase of the Carnegie Museum(s). Until he told me I never knew the Oakland complex had as many varieties in marble and stone as did the Paris Opera House. I'll miss walking across Europe (Irish Connemara, Italian Verona and French Hauteville) with him. And, our later talks about the geology in John Kane paintings.

Albert was a good friend and supportive colleague for the two decades we worked together here at Carnegie Museum of Natural History. Nobody knew more about the geology of the Pittsburgh region and the many fossils found here. He will be missed.
