Albert George Leicht, teacher, master printer, and inspirational husband and father, died on April 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 81. He was born in Cincinnati on January 5, 1942, to his beloved mother and father Maria and Albert. Albert was a dedicated instructor of the printing arts. He taught at both the West Virginia Institute of Technology and Cincinnati State Technical College for over forty years where he instilled mentorship to countless students, forever impacting the printing industry of Cincinnati. Albert was nothing if not a character. He was always generous with the gift of humor, and always created a wonderful atmosphere with his presence. He loved fishing, hunting, solving problems, helping others, and could also teach the value of a well-earned moment of relaxation. He mastered countless skills in mechanics and home repair through his own inquisitiveness, and always instilled the virtues of curiosity, ingenuity, collaboration, and patience.
Albert is remembered in passing as a cherished husband to Nannette; Father to David and his wife Molly; Father to Kelly and her fiancé Danny, grandfather to children Robby and Reese Newcomb, and beloved to their father Robby; Loving Papa to Autumn; Brother to Fred (Nancy) Leicht and Mary (Tom) Klayer. Brother-in-law to David (Marion) Angus and Janet (Salvatore) Sapienza. Albert is also survived by multitudes of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, and students.
An open house in Albert's memory will be hosted on Sunday, April 16, from 1-4 PM at 5489 Karen Avenue; Cincinnati, Ohio 45248. We invite anyone touched by his memory to join us and acknowledge Albert with a Slider, Snickers bar, or cold Bud Light, in honor of a man worth celebrating.
